अरुणाचल में बनेंगी आइटीबीपी की 54 नई चौकिया

अरुणाचल प्रदेश से लगती सीमा पर सड़क निर्माण को लेकर चीन की आपत्तियों को दरकिनार करते हुए भारत ने इस सीमांत राज्य में 54 नई चौकियां बढ़ाने का एलान किया है।

इसके अलावा सीमा पर अन्य निर्माण कार्यो के लिए 175 करोड़ रुपये के पैकेज की भी घोषणा की है।

PM Narendra Modi comes to the rescue of former Amity professor, helps her get her due

Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to the rescue of a professor in Noida. Former Amity University professor Kavita Surbhi wrote to the Prime Minister about how the university hadn’t given her gratuity when she quit.

The university reportedly owed her Rs 40,000 in gratuity. The Prime Minister’s Office immediately stepped in and contacted the University.

The university apologised to the professor and gave her Rs 1.6 lakh instead of Rs 40,000.

“After resigning from my job, I kept waiting for gratuity but it never came. Then I got in touch with the PM, who assured me that they will look into the matter,” said Professor Kavita.

“Within 15 days, they replied and all through the process, they kept assuring me that justice will be done,” she added.

How PM Modi’s Digital India Will Empower the Postman

In the age of e-mails, the postman could be relevant again.

As part of its Digital India programme, the Narendra Modi government plans to tie up with major e-retailers like Flipkart, Snapdeal and Myntra for them to use the postal department’s services to deliver consumer goods in remote areas of the country.

Minister of Communication and Information Technology Ravi Shankar Prasad is expected to meet Sachin and Binny Bansal, the founders of e-commerce giant Flipkart soon to hold detailed discussions. He will also meet other e-tailers.

Guidelines and protocols for medico legal care for survivors/victims of sexual violence released, Ministry invites suggestions

Guidelines and protocols for medico legal care for survivors/victims of sexual violence have been released by the Ministry of Health and family Welfare. The guidelines have specifically been drawn up for rape cases, although the same could be used for other cases as well. They are aimed at doctors who might be indulged in handling female victims of sexual assault/ rape. It lays down that such a victim cannot be denied treatment by Government or private hospitals when they approach them as denial has lately been made a cognizable criminal offence punishable with appropriate jail terms or fines or both.

The rape law in the country has been made more stringent, with zero tolerance for offenders. These guidelines aim to maintain a sensitive and humane approach to such victims, their proper treatment apart from attending or treating doctors responsibility and duty in recording and documenting the medical aspects in order that such cases when they come up before the criminal justice system are not found wanting in the quality of evidence produced by the prosecution during trial.

The guidelines have been uploaded on the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’s website, inviting suggestions which can be sent to Director (H), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Nirman Bhawan, New Delhi.

River Ganga: Central Pollution Control Board

700 industrial units have been issued notices for polluting the river.

Central Pollution Control Board chairman Susheel Kumar on Wednesday said that only industrial pollution is not squarely responsible for polluting the River Ganga.

Susheel Kumar added that municipal discharge is more responsible for polluting Ganga.
